Annotation

Gully erosion is widespread in Northern Kazakhstan. Ravines pose a serious threat to urbanized areas due to the risk of destruction of infrastructure and communications facilities. In addition, ravines worsen the environmental situation, as they often become places of accumulation of solid household waste and sewage. The purpose of the study was to assess the environmental hazard of the ravine-girder network of the city of Petropavlovsk. The methods of linear measurement, photogrammetric, cartographic and route research methods were used. The main characteristics of the three ravines of the city of Petropavlovsk, their geoecological danger and measures to prevent further development of gully-beam erosion are described. The application of a set of measures will help to minimize environmental damage and maintain the stability of the ecosystem.
