Annotation
The article presents the history of the spread of high-rise buildings in the city of Shenzhen, China, from 1985 to 2023. Two main stages in the development of high-rise buildings and three zones of concentration of high-rise buildings in the urban space under consideration are identified. A rating of Shenzhen districts has been compiled by the number of high-rise buildings. The functional purpose of high-rise buildings and their impact on the urban landscape are considered. The study is based on literary, statistical and cartographic sources.
