Annotation

The paperexplores the possibility of applying HPLC-MS methods for the identification of cephalosporin antibiotics during routine analyses with the aim of detecting adulterated preparations of this group. To obtain additional information on the chemical structure by selecting the mass detector, the authors investigated the possibility of fragmentation of molecular ions of different generations of cephalosporin antibiotics. Carried out in optimal conditions for HPLC with mass spectrometric detection, the studypresents the results of development of a standardized methodology for qualitative and quantitative analysis of cefazolin and cefuroxime using standard samples.
