Annotation

The objective of the study is to analyze the indicators of psychomotor abi lities of students in the railway industry (using Omsk State University of Railway Transport as an example) and to determine the composition of psychomotor training in the structure of the professional and applied component of students’ physical education. Psychomotor testing was conducted with the participation of 1 st –4 th year students studying in railway transport specialties, taking into account gender. The dynamics of changes in psychomotor indicators during the course of study was tracked. Information was obtained on the level of development of individual psychomotor abilities that are significant for the success of future professional activity of students studying in railway transport specialties, taking into account gender and stage of study (course). A reduced level of most reactive abilities was revealed, and the degree of decrease increases from junior to senior years and is more pronounced in girls, which indicates insufficient effectiveness of the physical training process during training and determines the inclusion of psychomotor training tools in the professional and applied component of physical education disciplines. The composition of psychomotor training tools for the student contingent was selec ted and recommended. It is advisable to use these tools on an ongoing basis in the implementation of physical education disciplines, starting from the 1 st year of study.
