Annotation

Scoliosis is a disease of growth spurts, often diagnosed in adolescence. The danger of developing a disease that threatens external attractiveness is especially hard to bear in this age period, since adolescents are very vulnerable to external evaluation of their appearance. In addition, scoliotic disease reduces many vital resources that a child needs for successful study, sports, creativity, and self-realization. The success of the treatment of scoliosis in adolescents is determined not only by the timeliness and effectiveness of therapeutic measures, but also by the participation of the teenager himself, his ability to cooperate with the doctor, accurately follow all prescriptions, comply with regime restrictions. Such an active position depends on the type of attitude to the disease. To identify the type of attitude of a teenager to the disease, the TOBOL questionnaire (“Type of attitude to the disease”) was used. The article proves the effectiveness of the use of auto-training formulas during massage sessions to overcome the intrapsychically maladaptive type and the formation of a conditionally adaptive type of a teenager’s attitude to his disease.
