Annotation

The article is devoted to the study of the effect of sleep on his well-being, mood, individual cognitive functions and his performance during the day. The substantiation of the relevance of the problem associated with a decrease in the duration of sleep caused by an increased study load, a lot of stress and a violation of the daily routine of students is given. The aim of the work was to study the impact on the body of lack and excess sleep, as well as its duration on cognitive abilities and mood. The article presents a study of the physiology of sleep. Questions are considered about how sleep affects performance, general well-being, mood and physical health, depending on its duration. The results of a study conducted among 2nd year students of the Medical Institute of FSBEI HE “Oryol State University named after I. S. Turgenev”. The thesis is substantiated that sleep is the most important process of human life, which directly affects its performance.
