Annotation

The relevance of the study is due to the need to find comprehensive approaches to the development of children with intellectual disabilities, combining motor correction with the formation of psychosocial development, as well as insufficient knowledge of the use of oriental gymnastics in this area. The aim of the work is to develop and experimentally test methods for the development of coordination abilities and psychosocial development of children with intellectual disabilities using wushu gymnastics. To achieve the goal, a set of methods was used: pedagogical testing (long jump, log walking), motivation questionnaire, Bourdon test, statistical data processing. The study involved 20 children with intellectual disabilities (7–10 years old). The results showed a significant improvement in physical fitness in the experimental group: long jump (+5.54 %), one-legged jumping (+12.34 %), log walking (+25.68 %). 76.5 % of children developed stable motivation to study, improved concentration (84.4 %) and social adaptation (95.5 %). The conclusions emphasize that the method of using wushu gymnastics has proven its effectiveness for the comprehensive development of children with intellectual disabilities.
